A poor urban education system drives increased poverty, higher incarceration rights, prolonged inequality, and a weaker U.S. economy. We can and must do better.
Our mission is to revive the American dream for under-served children. We recruit emerging community leaders and develop them into education reform catalysts to improve the life prospects of millions of under-served American children.
We can improve the prospects of these children. Join us.
We are now recruiting 2017-2018 NYC fellows. You can learn more about our 12 month, part-time education fellowship by reviewing our website and watching our webinar. Round 1 applications are due July 1, 2017. Round 2 applications will be accepted until August 1, 2017. Learn more about the application on the “Apply” page.
As part of the program, you will:
- Build Your Knowledge – For the first 10 months, fellows attend monthly seminars designed to help them learn about the education reform movement, the challenges we face, and the progress being made. These seminars, which begin in September, are led by education practitioners who have an intimate knowledge of the system. See our Speakers page for a list of some of the leaders our fellows have met.
- Make an Impact – After the first six months of the institute, fellows identify education organizations where they would like to become volunteers and serve as strategic partners. These volunteer opportunities may last 6 months or more. See our Partner Organizations page for a list of organizations with whom our fellows are volunteering.
- Strengthen Your Network – An important aspect of the fellowship is the opportunity to network with other professionals who believe in the importance of an excellent education for all students. We will help you to build relationships with your cohort and with alumni so you can further your impact.
